Dear Garden Members and Friends:
“Fresh” takes up where the recent film “Food, Inc.” left off: now that you know about the massive problems in our nation’s food system, what can you do?
“Fresh” presents ideas for positive change. It features author Michael Pollan (“The Omnivore’s Dilemma”) and farmer Joel Salatin (both were in “Food, Inc.”) and also interviews urban farmer and activist, Will Allen, the recipient of MacArthur’s 2008 Genius Award, and supermarket owner, David Ball, who challenges our Wal-Mart dominated economy by offering locally-made products in his store chain.
Share what you value in our garden and bring a friend to the movies. For a little film (72 minutes), “Fresh” offers a message for everyone. Each one of us can make a difference in big and small ways.
Come to a free screening at the Wayne Clearview Cinema, 109 West Lancaster Ave., in Wayne, PA, on Thursday, September 17 at 7pm. A discussion will follow.
If you’d like to carpool with us, we’re leaving at 6 from Queen Village. Write us at swqv@yahoo.com

And check out this fantastic review at EcoSalon.com:
“If ‘Food, Inc.’ was your wake up call, ‘Fresh: The Movie’ is your call to action. ‘Fresh’s’ strength is that it shows the incredible creativity of individuals who are devoting their lives to producing food differently.”
